I have to say NTRPG Con is the best convention I've attended and the only one I take time off from work to go to.

They've done a wonderful job with it every year.

This year if you played in the game I ran you got the printed and bound materials I used with the scenario and a USB drive that is also a minfig.

Not promising I'll do the same for next year, the boxed USB drives were selling on Amazon for about $50.00 if you wanted to just resell the one that came with the game rather than keep it.

I also gave away five letters from Gary Gygax to various convention attendees.  I'd found them in some correspondence that had gotten mixed up, so I thought I'd share them at the convention.

All in all it was a great convention for me.

Not promising the same for next year, but there is a change I'll find more letters or have similar things to give away.

I'm working on putting the scenario I ran into publishable format, but I'm waiting on a professionally done map (which the artist won't have time for until October or so) that I'm paying for.

Anyway, I need to get to bed, work tomorrow, just wanted to say just how great NTRPG Con was again.

Great to have you, Steve!  And we love seeing your daughter's there every year.

The USB minifig is sitting atop my desk now, with your info and other gaming stuff loaded inside, it's going to be my "go to" USB now when I attend cons, I put all my gaming info inside, and it's distinctive enough it won't get lost in the shuffle.

Are you going to be in the DFW area this weekend? We are getting together for informal gamedays both this Saturday and the next....the 13th and the 20th. These will be held at the NTRPG con warehouse, if you've been there you know there is plenty of room to game and a fridge full of drink and snacks (not to mention some pinball machines and an arcade machine). Since it's the end of the year it will be very informal and laid back, probably just board and card games unless Rob decides to run a Chariot racing game at some point...
First up this weekend, we are going to be lucky enough to have Tim Kask at the warehouse for a few hours....he is in town to visit family this weekend and is going to hang out with us for part of Saturday! Board games will probably be the order of the day unless we default to Gladiator battles that evening. No guarantee but we will probably be looking at festive holiday cookies and snacks as well. If you are interested in coming, let me know, we'll be looking for you!

PS in the holiday spirit I'll have a pile of JG items available for free for anyone interested!

BTW I'll have the new NTRPG con thread up before the first of the year!

Any ETA on getting the NTRPG Con forum up and running again, Mike? Or is that on hold indefinitely?

The original forums are hosed and Doug isn't going to put them up again until after next year's con, I suspect.  This week we should have a phpbb forum up that will serve the purpose of the forums, just putting the finishing touches on it!

Thanks for the people who have signed up, seems to be working ok.  For some reason I have to approve my own posts, but other than that, working smooth. I'll have to play with it some more....thanks to Jonathan Perkel and Zach Glazer for the help setting it up!

MikeB,

Now that I have "False Promises" printed, I'd like to send a few down to you for this year's NTRPGCon auction.  Can you PM me your address?

Thanks!

Thom

No problem. thanks Thom!

We do accept donations, btw, of nearly anything you would like to contribute to the con.  We run in the red every year and every bit helps.  Even common modules or paperbacks can be utilized in the silent auction or as giveaways!

One of my best gifts from my wife this Christmas was a NTRPG con Tshirt and a green light to attend this June! I registered - and I'm  really looking forward to slinging some dice with you!

"One" of the best gifts?  I'd like to see a better gift!

That's great news, Nick.  Looking forward to seeing you in both Lake Geneva and Dallas . . . and maybe someday in the western suburbs of Chicago, too.

Well it may not be better - but the other great gifts included framing and matting a pencil illustration of the drawing from Doug Kovacs from the DCC Sailors of the Starless Sea module. (So you are probably right the t-shirt/ green light to go to NTRPG Con was probably the best of them all.)

Looking forward seeing you guys too - and someday out in the burbs. (It's been a hellacious year for me too - with much less gaming time - hopefully that gets better in 2015!)

Note that they've increased their ratio this year.

One guest for each two paid attendees.

Note to those wishing to run their own con: That's generally not the correct way to do it, but it's the NTRPG con way.... :P

Happy New Year to everyone, I'll be posting the new NTRPG Con 2015 thread soon!!!
