I own everything you highlighted Doug (except the bobsled stuff) already and I don't wish to have more doubles, but it certainly was a great listing of items.

There we have it. The rarest of all TSR items (per page) are a picture of a wizard holding up a finger (a nice finger, not an impolite finger), plus a badge & other ephemera. Now that this fact is established, our next task will be the creation of nostalgia-themed, retro-appeal products to exploit it. How about a bobsled-oriented campaign? The initial module could be titled BS1 - Against the Dreadlocked Overlords.

Did you get the bobsled stuff?  I know, it's not in your collecting scope, but sometimes you do deviate... :)

I'm always amazed when something new comes up that I've never known of before.  The TSR Hobbies Constructing Scientifiction & Fantasy information packet was one such item.  I knew about the TSR Hobbies USA Bobsled Team, but seeing the collection of memorabilia was really neat.

I wonder how many personal copies of Titan Jason McAllister still has?  I think I've seen three sold now.

No, I did not buy the bobsled stuff.
By the way Jason is deceased (he died about 8 years ago).
I think I got my constructing scientification pamphlet from the Burntwire Brothers a few years ago.

That is a lot. It may be the beginning of the 50th anniversary effect. I am looking forward to see what the chainmail - OCE book is going to be like and the S series reprints. Anniversary stuff is just cool. :)

Well it is evident that conditions heavily affected the final price however we are far from the 10k bucks this kind of item usually reach:

Is it merely a matter of low grading or is there any other factor playing here?

It's a 3rd print,  but it's in really rough shape and appears to have been nibbled on by varmints.
There are many people that "want to have just one woodgrain" but this one is just a nibble too far.
And December 29th is a really dumb time to end an auction for a high-end collectable.

Kind of surprised myself. That was my "Don't really have to sell it but if you pay this price...." price. May already be seeing some 50th anniversary effect for the rare items.

Indeed.  It looks like it might have staining / water damage underneath the SW on the back, too.  I don't think that's on the SW.  If it was, it would have been easy to clean off.

Apparently it was relisted and sold for a more realistic price, considering the condition.

Another example where SW is not a condition.  It would be interesting to see what condition the contents are in.  Rusty?  Water damaged?  Maybe not, but no guarantees.
