I just received my return label information from eBay. I have 7 days to get in the mail. I'd love tho hear how yours ends up, misterspock.

I'll let you know as soon as I can. Supposedly a link to click will show up on the return status page on the 22nd if a refund has not been given by the seller at that time. That link will further get ebay to step again.

Everytime I check ebay, I'm expecting to see his account as "no longer a registered user"

Mine are going in the mail on Monday. Ebay was able to freeze the payment and recover it from paypal. Ebay indicated that they will provide my refund in 24-48 hrs after delivery confirmation is posted online.

That's great news, better than my situation!
Make sure to get that receipt/slip of paper from the USPS when you drop it off.... sorry I keep harping on that.
Just that if you don't get that receipt, and for some reason the package doesn't get scanned in at any point along the way, then you'll never be able to get the proof on the delivery and your money back.

Just checked and all the Pearson/Pendleton auctions are gone but the account is still open.

Also, if you left Pearson a positive feedback comment, you can follow it up with another comment.  So while I can't change the positive to a negative, At least I could update the feedback I originally left!

Feedback

Here's the link.  Then click "Follow up to Feedback left".

I flagged each and everyone of them all as counterfit explaining they did not have the copyright or permission to sell the product.

Also, I think there we others behind the scenes that help forced the closure.

I tend to think Ebay froze their paypal and thus ended his ability to sell.

sorry, nothing further for an update. It's just as I figured that Pearson/Pendleton would just ride out the timeframe. I just have to wait until that link appears on the "returns" progress page to enlist Ebay to step in on the refund.
At this point, I think you just have to get that in the mail so you can have the scanning info in the ebay system. I did take photos before, during, and after with the package in case they try the trick "the package was empty" with ebay.

ok, so here's the update. The basic deal is that I should be receiving my refund within 24 to 48hrs by ebay to the paypal account.

However, these are the issues I ran into.
1. the "returns detail page" never showed me a link to click on to have ebay step in and assist. I ran into this "phantom link" issue previously when trying to initiate this process of having ebay step in. I don't know if it's a bug with their system or just that they are really trying to make you jump through as many hoops to get you to simply give up.

2. I wound up having to call ebay. Going through their "help and contact" web menu's almost always results in having no phone number provided to you if you choose the help choices for buying. So you have to choose that you're having an account billing problem and then they give you a phone number and code. Or you can contact Paypal with account issues and then have them transfer you to Ebay.

3. Once on the phone, I explained the situation to the agent/gave him the item number since I had been expecting the refund. The refund never came in, it is past the due date and that no link was available to click on to have ebay step in from the return detail page. The agent researched the issue/item number, etc and after several minutes then forwarded me over to the "Returns Department"

4. I then explained the situation to the "Returns Department" agent who continued to research it and basically asked me the same questions about having returned it to the address printed out for the ebay label (which of course I did) and why it was returned (I explained the counterfeiting). She started explaining that I needed to wait the certain # of days to receive the refund and I stated again that we were beyond that date now. After she finished "researching the issue", she claimed that there could be a "latency" to receive that special link on the ebay "returns detail" page which is why I hadn't seen that option yet. She said that I would receive the refund within 24 to 48hrs and that the case would be closed. I asked whether that meant "business days" and she said it's just the actual timeframe.

5. I then went back to the "returns detail page" and refreshed it and saw that the case was closed. However, one weird thing (and I'm not sure whether this happened with some choice that Returns Dept agent clicked on to close the case, as if clicking that I was the seller and not the buyer) was that the text now read

This return was closed on May 22, 2015 because the seller opened a case.

So I'm not sure if the seller opened a counter claim case on me? The agent never said anything, but maybe that's why she verified the return details.

Anyways, all of you returning will most likely have to go through the same route if the "have ebay step in" link never shows up for you. I would not put it past Pearson or Pendleton or "Lety"/Leticia to file a counter claim and attempt to hold up each and every return regardless, but I wouldn't wait for Ebay to handle your situation accordingly. So be proactive in calling them to get this fixed for you.

I have since received the official message in ebay that the refund claim was found to be in my favor.

I must have got lucky. My return was delivered yesterday and my refund was issued late last night. I checked and it is already in my PayPal account.  What a strange situation overall.

Checked Ebay earlier today, the ebay account he/she used is no longer registered.
