We were basically ignoring the threat of Islamic radicalsim and they killed thousands of Americans. It took that event to "wake" up our government. They responded and to my recollection, I haven't seen an attack on our soil since. People can disagree with the response, but the fact remains: no attacks on american soil. I am good with that.

I certainly cannot say torture works - I have never performed it and I have no knowledge therein. But that does not make the opposite true, either.
