Two new switches are now working: under Control Panel, Board preferences, Edit display options, you'll see "Replace eBay preview image with eBay ToGo widget" and "Replace Auction Hunter old style with eBay ToGo widget".

The replace-preview-image-with-widget option is DISABLED by default (so the board will  look as it does now).  You must have Preview Image switched on in order to make the widgets work.  Much like the Preview Image, the widgets will not replace seller listings, eBay search results, etc (it will just show a text link of "eBay listings").

The replace-old-Auction-Hunter-with-widget is ENABLED by default (so again, the board will look as it does now).  This option is completely independent from the two options above it.

If you are viewing on an iOS device, the settings won't matter (widgets will not be displayed regardless).  So you can set them for what you'd like to see when viewing on a non-iOS device.  (BTW, if someone with an iOS device could check that this is actually working, i.e. set the widgets to enable and make sure you're still getting the old style previews).

One last thing: when you set your preferences and hit the "submit" button, you don't get a confirmation that the settings have taken.  Rest assured they have.

Enjoy!

Works as was, on my iOS thanks Foul.

I'll look forward to accessing the site via a laptop and seeing the changes in action though

Another modification to Auction Hunter: auction caching.  For items completed more than 90 days ago (which is when eBay purges the auction images), clicking the thumbnail will bring you to a locally-cached copy of the auction description, the auction pics (in the brown border on top), and a link to the original auction listing on eBay (in the brown border on the bottom).

Note that the original auction listing will be purged off eBay's servers approximately 230 days after the auction completes; this caching system will ensure that the auction details and images remain on the Acaeum for perpetuity.

Enjoy, and please point out any problems or issues that you notice.

Auction Hunter auctions are now searchable by title -- i.e., searching for "Blackmoor" will bring up all the Blackmoor auctions Auction Hunter has found.  (Previously, the AH auctions were only searchable by item number, which was a pain).

I'm not sure if it's a problem with my computer or browser, but I only see the titles now, and there's no link to the auction.

I assume you mean that when you perform a search for Auction Hunter auctions, the results show only show the titles and the eBay item number?  The link to the post is the post title.

Nope.  When I go to the Classifieds and look under the auction hunter thread, each of posts show a title in text ("Blackmoor"), and that's it.  There's nothing to click on to find the auction.

And Auction Hunter is going to have a heart attack as the rate it's going.  For some reason, both threads have about thirty new posts in the last few minutes.

What browser are you using?  And are you displaying widgets or preview image?

Yeah, unavoidable hiccup.  Won't happen again.

The Class 4-5 and 3 Rares listings in Classifieds seem to have stopped working, Scott.

Firefox.  I have no idea whether I'm displaying widgets or preview images.  Some of them are still showing up, from before you made the new change.  Like that OB3 that recently sold.  But otherwise, it's just text.

Same on mine...I am using Chrome (latest version) on Windows 7 and I just get the name of the matching item but nothing else in the post. Looks like the only item showing on this page ( Class 4 & 5 Rares Currently on eBay ) is the Orange B3.

It's better now.   It was hyper-inactive, so I guess that means it is now hyper-active....or not.   :bounce:
