Those were Texas Fire Beetles compliments of the Con. :)  Didn't you see them light up the room at night?

Hello Mrs. Cleaver, Theodore.

Gee, Mrs. Cleaver ... That certainly is a lovely dress.

:)

It was a great big black insect that scuttled out of the lift and down the space under it.

About and inch and a half long. Yuck!

Only an inch and a half long?  In Texas those are the runts of the litter!

Yeh, the Marriott is quite a huge step up, Karen....don't worry you'll be impressed by how nice it is compared to Year Four!

I haven't heard back from the hotel yet since I sent the email late Friday night.

But if you try and get a room via the link from the site, you can't book one if you include Wed night. It appears out allotment of rooms for Wed is used up. So you could book from Thur-Sun at the correct rate for now and as soon as they get it fixed, you can call in and add Wed night.

In any case, I'll make sure they fix this on Monday.

Also, Karen, we are not staying in the Holiday like year 4... we are so sorry we ever tried that hotel... makes me sick that was your first Con with us and it had to be there !

The place we are at now is so much better.

I'm curious, are there going to be any special edition modules available for those of that can't make the con again this year? If so, I'd love to get on the list.   :)

Unfortunately we are not going to have a large selection of "special" edition digest modules this year, mostly due to Doug and I not having time to follow up on a number of possibilities.   The only new one for this year is another Erol Otus "Island Town" adventure to complement his original setting and initial module we published several years ago (which, btw, we have several copies of the original Island Town still available at the con).  We will, however, have a wide variety of published digests left over from earlier years, including offerings from Jim Ward, Tim Kask, Steve Winter, Clark Peterson & Bill Webb.  Next year we'll get started earlier rounding up material and hopefully do a lot better....

All digests and special editions (along with t-shirts and memorabilia) are always available after the con on the rpgmarkeplace website.  Right now, I noticed Doug has placed several past special edition digests for sale at the site...

That would be http://rpgmarketplace.com/NTRPGCon,cate ... categories , of course.
Hey; not every passer-by knows where to look yet, Mike, despite the free listings, etc.? ;)

(And not only digests, of course: the CotSK ltd. prints would appear to be down to the last unit in stock?)

I only listed the CoTSK art sets one at a time, but we have plenty....the digests are all listed by number we have left in stock.  Thanks for the link!

The lack of digest modules isn't due to no follow up.

The problem is that the Special Guests that normally have modules for us to print, have been busy and not gotten anything to us.

For instance, every  year, Steve Winter has usually gotten 3 modules to us. He did not send us anything for 2013 nor 2014, so 2 years dry from Steve. Nothing wrong with that, but Steve's been busy.

Tim Kask also hasn't sent anything to us for the last 2-3 years either, most likely due to Eldritch commitments and of course, I am sure anything he creates should go there before anywhere else.

Dennis Sustare use to get us his modules the same year he ran them (all the others we print are from the previous year). But Dennis also hasn't provided anything to print for the past 2 years.

Jim Ward sent his first digests to us last year, but this year, while he wanted to do 3, he didn't get but one to us and it was very late.

So, it's not been like we've sat around, it's that the sources for creating these hasn't been able to provide anything to us.

I have looked over other Wee Warrior products, but other than the PotVQ, Dwarven Glory and Misty Isles (which we've already printed), not many of their other products really "yell" to be printed.

Would be nice to find some old stock of some lost product we could sell like last year, but that's what takes time to hunt down and that's what we haven't had time to do.

In the case of the Michael Curtis "Stonehell Lazer Dungeon" adventure it was due to no follow-up (mistake on my part after I didn't answer an email of Michael's).....but, we'll have that one ready to go for next year.

We don't want to create digests just to create them.....if there isn't a "hook" there we aren't really that interested.  I have some lines on some "classic" product like Tombs of Valla that we may try to reprint, but there is only so much of that sort of stuff out there, and interest is limited.  As cool as it was to find the Tombs of Valla, City of Valla and Notnaidag Robber Headquarter items, we didn't sell out our 100+ copies of each.

As for Wee Warriors, I'd still like to see a reprint of something like Labyrinthe, Vanquished Foe or Dragonlord if we could get the price cheap enough to make money off of it, and it didn't take a lot of work on our parts.

Black Blade should have the reprint for Bottle City available, and perhaps another book too.
