Wow, I'm super glad I found this thread.  This guy (Cougar Rinard) is the only seller of some 2e stuff I've been trying to collect.  His prices are insane, so I haven't bought yet, but I've been thinking about it.  Definitely on my "nope" list now, despite the temptation.

I had some bad experiences with him as well. Intentionally taking forever to ship things (far and below the standard turnaround times for Royal Mail levels), just being snarky and nasty and rude.

What sort of things are you trying to collect? I'm sure some of us have things in stock that we haven't posted. I like to believe most of us are better people (and more honest!) than Cougar Rinard. I'm sure other people on this board share your misery, and would like to help you out so you don't have to go the Cougar Rinard route again. I'll help you out, if I can, or refer you to someone who can.

A copy of X10, with map, but missing the counters, starting price ~ 48 US-$, which would indicate a VG grade. The only pic provided (more pics are not offered, even though I asked) does not allow any real judgment, as the module is inside a plastic bag.
The other items he offered are often multi-listings, with the photos showing sometimes quite battered items.
Is this the scammer that this thread is about? And, would a copy of X10 without the counters be priced ok, if it it in good shape otherwise?

Unless there's some poor sap out there who took the name without knowing the reputation of the infamous cougarrinard, that is definitely him. Note the blacklist. I strongly suggest going by the Acaeum pricelist, before anything else. His prices are generally outrageous, and that's just the tip of the iceberg when dealing with him. (Which is why he is so infamous on this board and elsewhere---just do a Google search on "cougar rinard" and there's some pretty damning stuff to behold).  Also, his only photo of the X10 on his eBay page is in a plastic sleeve, so it's hard to make out specific minor defects.  I highly recommend you look elsewhere. Go to a seller who is honest and open.

Just for comparison's sake, I just sold an X10 with no counters for US$35, but the opening bid was $9.99 so there was  no intended price-gouging, and I did the best I could regarding photos and description without trying to give it an inaccurate "spin":

Some of us remember him from the "M-bag" days. He would ask that items he bought be shipped to him M-bag (sort of like overseas media mail) and claim they never arrived.
