Tszii wrote in Country when country wasnt cool...:As a newer member, of a couple of years, I continue to wonder: Do some folks have boxes of stuff like this laying around? What year did you start collecting rare or uncommon items?

My appreciation for The Acaeum, information and community continues to grow - only slightly faster than my estimated value of some folks collections and expected regret for the few items divested over the years.

Edit: I forgot to ask the most important question, what year did you start collecting rare and uncommon items? I just added it.

Sweet book!!!

There are plenty of pictures of my stuff on this site, so I'm not dredging that up again, but I will answer your question about rare items. I got my first brown box (Terry Kuntz's, brother of Rob) at a Winter Fantasy con in 1981. GenCon 1982 I bought the first OB3 sold.

And on topic, I sold a crap load of my own stuff back in 2008-2009. At that time, I ended up probably selling rougjly half of my stuff total, including over 200 shrink wrapped modules and most, but not all of my rarer items. I'm not sure I'll ever get my shrinks back, but I started slowly buying here and there over the last 6 years or so and while I have no replacement many of the things I have sold, I have also bought many things I did not own at the time back then.

Which is kind of what makes this hobby so great.

Sweet Boot Hill!  On my wish list...

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

Shoulda been: ".. from Pangreenia to Floratopolis, from mystical Treeonia of spectral Forests to Schruborial dimensions." - The Forests of Leng

Indeed.... I have two large bookcases and that is all of it (well except for the three comic book long boxes stuffed with Dragon Magazine issues.)
