Nice! That gives us an even 10 ... what about the rest of you girls' blouses? Hit the link and sign up, you big weenies ...

+++++

Reminder: the games begin early on Thursday; anyone thinking "I'll just do it Thursday" should keep that in mind. Yahoo will lock our league at about 10 minutes before the first tip-off.

I should be sufficiently prepared tomorrow...if I have the chance to glance at a sports page before then.

My favorite March Madness story:  Every year at work there was a huge bracket racket that had close to 100 people...some big money at $10 a pop (highly illegal of course). The day the tournament started, I hadn't handed in my bracket sheet. The co-worked running the thing called me while I was driving to work and said I had to have it in asap or he wouldn't accept it as games started that morning...so I did it on the seat next to me while driving to work, picking at random most of the time, choosing the better known name when it jumped out at me.

Well, you know the rest. I came in 2nd place, among dozens of rabid college basketball fans who devoured every piece of college March Madness news available.  The only thing funnier...the winner was some girl in accounting who had picked ENTIRELY randomly.

That's how these things usually go. I've organized/played in ... lots ... of these things and my lifetime in-the-money finishes are exactly two. I've had better luck in blindly choosing squares in those Super Bowl Squares pools that a lot of offices do.

I also have a theory that no one who organizes an NCAA pool can ever hope to finish well. I fully expect to record an ugly 9th-place finish in the Acaeum pool.

I decided not to pick at random, rather let a dice do it for me :D
Picking games is hard with all the randomness that can go on, compared to like a fantasy football league were you sort of know what players can do and just hope they do that each week.

Shane, in the old days, we used to buy beers for guys who managed to lose their national champion pick on the first day of the tournament. So you've got that going for you.

My big upset happened:  Kansas St. advanced.  Of course, I have them going to the Final Four, so I may be a wee bit optimistic.....

Let's laugh at Blackmoor, too ... he forgot to pick a national champion.  8O

When we're done with that, let's laugh about why in the world I would think USC was any good ... my West Coast bias killed me there.
