Ugh. At least my spidey sense was correct.  That thread was rough.  

I do always love the "I am a totally uninterested 3rd party" types who show up and are very concerned about how these things are being exposed as fakes. Do any of these scammers think they're even original doing it?

...and from the "1992" in the eBay username, I'm already guessing part of the sad tale will be that this is somebody's son, whose dad passed away after a long illness, bequeathing these rarities to his sole heir with the final commandment, "scam them, my son", and passing away with a mournful sigh.

Hello. It's been a while since I last posted - I was one of the two victims of the infamous dayecon for those who might remember that seller.

I am writing for a different seller. I came across this one while buying non-RPG books, but I saw he has a few RPG books listed, so I thought I'd come in and share.

He is seller brenhambookcompany

He lists old books as New, utilizing stock photos. As you can see from several people's feedbacks, he delays shipping significantly and those he does send, are actually used (and some abused). My own order of a math book had writing all over it from a previous user and it wasn't even the right color cover (different edition).

As you might imagine, the delay suggests that he is either drop shipping or buying someone else's used copy and reselling it at a premium. While the book he sold me was in reasonable shape on the outside, it was most definitely quite used on the inside. Some of the other feedback though suggests that some of the new books he sells are not even in good shape on the outside.

For me, he indicated he pulled the wrong copy. I did notice he relisted the book BEFORE I even received mine, so I asked for a picture of the presumably right copy. You can imagine the response I got - crickets.

Spare yourself the pain of buying a rare "New" book that you will need to return and avoid him - e.g., Forgotten Realms Adventures
