D'oh, figured that might happen... Do you mean the 3.5 pdf?  (it doesn't photograph so well).. or is there a Dungeon mag version?  or maybe an original Origins copy?  I'm going to be thinking about this all day :)

Thank you :)  The digest booklet is the compilation of the first three adventures reprinted for last year's NTRPG con.

Is there a difference to the contents of the three different printings of CDM1? In particuler, the covers of the three booklets?


This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Wonderfull! The CDM5 is a gem. How many manuscripts exist? IIRC it was discussed here but I can't remember.
It is something that I really want to read.

I am wondering the same thing as Ian about the differences in CDM1.

I thought I had a post about the different prints of CDM1 and CDM2.  I'll see if I can find my list somewhere.  There is definitely a difference in format from print 1 to 2 and some minor changes such as box size from 2 to 3.

With CDM 2, the two appear to be the same, except that with CDM 2 (First Pringting) you get a book and a raft of loose leaf sheets in a box, and with CDM 2 (Second Printing) all the loose leaf sheets are stapled into the centre of the book and you no longer get the box.

I hame drawing assumptions on the print order there, as there is no evidence that I can see to indicate which came first. This would be an excellent question for Basil to answer if he recalls, and if he returns.

CDM 1 I don't know about because I don't have all the printings. In fact I don't think I've ever had a first printing of that one.

These AD&D miniature reprints aren't exceptionally rare, but they seem to fall in that awkward gap between "rare enough that for the right price there is always one for sale somewhere" and "common enough to pop up regularly for sale".

In any case, I struggled a little to complete this set!

Mine too.  I am only missing the mini basic set and don't want to pay the price to buy it from Italy.

Out of interest, how much is the Italian seller asking?

I got lucky with the miniature basic and expert sets. In December, I had a conversation with one of my players that went roughly:

Him: "How is the collecting going?"
Me: "Well, I'm gradually filling in the gaps in my Dragon collection, but I'm having an annoying amount of difficulty finding the last couple of miniature reprint boxed sets."
Him: "Are those tiny little versions of the original boxes?"
Me: "Yes, look." <opens draw>
Him: "Oh, I have two of those at home?"
Me: "Pardon?"
Him: "Yeah, someone gave them to me ages ago. I didn't really know what to do with them."
Me: "Um."
Him: "You can have them if you want."
Me: "That would be really awesome, thank you! Do you happen to know which boxes they are?"
Him: "I think they are one of the basic sets and the follow-up… expert, is it?
Me: "!"
