Do i understand correctly that the 2-star flag is the one of california+texas?
Is it a joke?

It's fiction.  Your guess about the flag is as good as mine.  Most Americans who are aware of the political landscape would find a union of Texas and California laughable at this point in history.  You'd have to go back almost 200 years to see that as even a somewhat realistic possibility.   8)

Truth is worth finding and life is too short to work for money.

Ok, it is clear that i miss 19th century story of texas and california!
However it is also a matter or geography (and not only history): iirc there is nevada in between...
The main point to my eyes is the political difference though: i have always thought as california being the most democratic state while texas the most republican one...

Nevada doesn’t count though. There isn’t any intelligent life there. Not human anyways.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

I don't think you'd have to go back quite that far. California used to be somewhat right wing, and from 1968-1988 they went for the Republican candidate (8 of those elections including Californians Nixon and Reagan), and they had mostly Republican governors during that time (including Reagan).  So you would probably need to go back 40 or so years. Not that they would be best friends, but maybe they could plausibly ally against a common foe.

That's probably mostly due to their size and influence. For the most Republican, there are a lot more states that are more right wing than Texas, such as Alaska, Wyoming, probably most of the deep south like Mississippi, etc. State wide races in Texas are mostly all won by Republicans these days, but there is some semblance of competition there. Really Texas is probably the closest to the center of any state that is considered reliably Republican (if that makes sense).

California might be closer to the most Democratic state, however, states like Vermont and Hawaii, maybe Illinois even, have it topped in terms of leaning left.

Will never happen.  Once the war began, does anybody realize how hard it will be to secure our seasonal pumpkin spice lattes?!?  It might even be impossible!

Whatever the politics, Texas has been doing some Fort-Sumter-ish stuff of late - a kerfuffle with the Border Patrol over barriers, & the whole abortion thing seems likely to lead to disagreements between law-enforcement agencies. I don't think a substantial number of Americans would support overthrowing the government, if that were the explicit goal. But what happens if one group of soldiers or police has orders in conflict with another, & violence occurs?

I seems like there is a difference between the book and the film.
The book doesn't have any of the anti-white racism in it, but there is explicit racial overtones in the film.
If the author didn't do it, who added the race bating into the movie script and why?

I just don’t see American soldiers vs each other.  If there is a coup then America has slipped full on into a banana republic. (Some might say we are already there).  IF something systemic happens, (collapse of banking system) then all bets are off.  Society is only 9 meals away from anarchy.  Within the first week, all supermarkets are cleaned out, then the horribleness of humanity really kicks in. My dad and brothers are preppers with 70 acres of well protected land in PA.  Crazy or just foresight…I haven’t decided yet and I hope I never do.

They're not thinking strategically. If the land is obviously well protected, & is isolated from where people might wander, people will probably stay away. If the supermarkets are closed, & a new supply of food is needed, why not welcome hungry strangers in? They can be the new food supply.

Because the type of meat that 'just wanders in' in a cricis is either all skin and bone or all fat and blubber.

Is a film about a future civil war in the US really that unlikely?
In the summer we had lots of US military men taking to social media with what shades of lipstick go best with thier fatigues, and a few big-wigs showing off their puppy play outfits which I assume they are not yet allowed to wear at the O club. Today I see statues to Satan being erected in State legislatures around the US, and staff filming gay sex videos in the Senate.
I think all this 'woke' stuff is getting a bit out of hand.

With all the guns and ammo in citizens hands, I shudder at the thought MB.  America is fighting a soft civil war now.  Civility is in short supply it seems, especially in highly populated metro areas.  Some war zones around the world are safer than a weekend in Chicago.  Wasn't there a nuclear guy in the administration who stole women's luggage too?  WTH has happened to peoples morals?

We might take comfort in the fact that it was at the very height of the Roman Empire when a scandal arose over immoral & lascivious acts committed while on the speaker's platform of the Forum.
The fall of Julia « Roman History 31 BC - AD 117
Perhaps the recent activities & scandalous behavior in the chambers of our own Senate are indications of similar health. More concerning are recent events around Yemen, which just happen to be nearby the Chinese naval base in Djibouti. If they can start a fight with the US in the Middle East, they can resupply overland across Russia (thus avoiding the US Navy, & sparing themselves the costly destruction of a war in their own backyard). An outright civil war in the US would certainly help China out, but every little bit of disruption counts. The 'soft civil war' you describe might be a cost-effective way to get the best bang for the yuan.

Apparently the film was produced by the Obamas. Is that true?
And there are two more films about the upcoming civil war schedules for release in 2024? One of them actually called ‘Civil War’. The next 5 years are gonna be a fun ride for those who are sitting in the middle of it.
I’d rather sit on the sidelines and watch this on play out from a distance.

The Netflix movie is called ‘Leave the World Behind’.  Yes, the Obamas produced it.  I thought it was an interesting movie and had no idea of there involvement.  Kevin Bacon was in it for like 5 mins. My only knock on it was the ending.  It was terrible in my opinion.  After reading reviews of it, I was like what the heck are they talking about. I’m glad I watched it without a biased viewpoint because I didn’t come away with any of notions critics were discussing. I thought it could have been a 3 or 4 episode miniseries to wrap up the story more.

Is that the one about the coming cyber attack that the world's Governments and the UN are warning us is going to be devistating?
The one where the parents warn their daughter not to trust people, especially white people?
I don't have Netflix so I guess I won't get to see it.
Netflix movies don't ever go anywhere except Netfix, do they? No cinema, no download rentals,no DVDs or anything like that?
