This is not the first time T&T act this way  each time a buyer forget to pay during the 5 days time your prices go up : this is the "american way of life & business" ... clearly understandable ... but not forgetable

For your information hopefully i was very happy to have been fu**ed by YOU (R BUSINESS PRACTICE)  because i purchased both of them on ebay.co.uk for less than £60 for the whole (£42 for DL1-8 and £12.50 for DL9-16) this summer in NEAR MINT condition and the seller was gentle enough to send them using www.parcel2go.com/parcelforce 48H, ie. £16.44 for a 5 Kg package full of AD&D modules which were also in your stuff !!! ;o))

I WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN FROM T&T : TOO MANY BAD EXPERIENCES IN THE PAST FEW YEARS, and i will continue to recommend friends to purchase items near Aaron Leeder : at least he is ok to ship items in Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelopes, M-BAG/ISAL or FRB 1 or 2.

BTW : it is trully unbelievable that you, as an american T&T customer, know less about way to ship items abroad than UK or french beings
:o

Funny you didn't answer to the part of my complain concerning your negative answer concerning shipping other than First Mail

Please just admit your mistakes, and never do them again : unfortunately for your company, shrinking used items to raise selling price is a very bad practice, especially when removing your shrink prooves the item is incomplete. T&T is well known for that.

Good answer or not thats why the price went up. Also with the price going up we are still paying the same amount for them to get them restocked on our buylist, which for that item is 60% of our retail for a NM copy. And since at the time I repriced them it was showing them as sold out not really making more money on them, just not going to be able to get them at what their buyprice was compared to what it was raised to with the increased price.

And i'm not in shipping department so I have no real knowledge on how shipping works internationally, it's not my job to know the ins and outs of it, that's for our shipping manager to know I can recommend more options for international shipping, which me and Marshall are going to talk to him about tomorrow.

As for getting a product shrinkwrapped that was not original sounds like it got put in under the wrong condition, which yes was part of the grading problems from before my time in the company and sorry it happened to you. But we do shrinkwrap items and mark them as rewrap always with condition of the product stickered on it, but they don't go in as original shrink wrapped items.

Why re-shrink used items? Why not just put them in the clear plastic sealable bags.
Re-shrinking sounds dubious, especially when you use stock items. I think that practice is mis-leading, IMO...

Shrinkwrap is much cheaper than plastic bags. It also tends to keep store customers from damaging the merchandise.

Not the most customer friendly way of safeguarding merchandise and definitely high potential for misuse. I prefer it when they use plastic sealable bags.

Surely it's better to be open & honest, stick a couple of more cents on the packing price and sell in a plastic bag, like most module or comic sellers.
Unless its intended to mis-lead & get SW sales?

Hi,

yup, one of the major resellers at Gencon this year had a shrinked white box.

It had a water drip on the front, inside the shrink.

As it happened, the person who bought it came round our booth later, talking about it. He was not best pleased when I pointed out that it had been re-shrinked.

There is also the "oh, its shrinked, they won't open it" factor, which means maps etc could be missing.

I've seen this with displays of Magic, where older boxes have had common cards put in them and then the box reshrinked. Particularly scarey when you see several hundred boxes together.

Personally, I wouldn't trust any large reseller on this, unless they guaranteed Factory Shrinked.

Cheers,
Malc

When I worked for a record store, just before CDs started coming out, and all we sold were vinyl and cassettes, we had a small shrinkwrap station in back which we used to reseal albums with torn shrinkwrap and shrinkwrapping cassettes onto these cardboard holders to keep them from being shoplifted. I remember the KB Toy and Hobby did the same thing with their games. Back then it was just a standard way of doing business, and I wouldn't be surprised if a number of shrinkwrapped modules from that time period are reshrunk.

It does seem to me to be a bad decision to reshrink gaming items now when they have moved into the collectable stage.

I think you're right. Years ago, it would be ok, but buying online without seeing an item leaves the potential for abuse and 'missing' items.

We shrink our boardgames, and box sets to keep them in better condition, and yeah it's cheaper to shrink them than get larger bags for them. We put all our books in bags, except newer product that is inprint.

* one-tenth among bought items SUDDENLY vanished from stock to suddenly reappear some weeks later ...
* i received a "shrinked" module sold as MINT/New who was in fact a second-hand shrinked VERY GOOD + / FINE module
* i was always asking for Priority Mail International F.R.B. 1 or 2 shipment but always received "NO" as answers, despite the fact it is fully trackable
* their customer service is unable to answer questions with efficiency about missing items within the package

And my last experience was when my computer crashed some months ago just before paying for both DL1-8 and DL9-16 miniature boxed sets : the first for $59.99 and the second for $49.99

It took me 6 days to repair my computer : motherboard and many other components were K.O.

When i returned to my T&T account, my order was canceled : i understand this, of course.

BUT WHAT I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND IS THIS : WHY SELLING PRICES SUDDENLY RAISED TO $99.99 EACH ?

Sorry but while T&T act like this i will continue to say to all my friends :

"don't buy from T&T : they use stock photos, they lie about grading and don't describe defective parts, and when you're unable to pay in less than 5 days prices go up in an outrageous manner >>> let's go buying near NOBLE KNIGHT GAMES !!!!"
End of story.
Sorry but you have earned this complain.

Something to say about this ? No answer ?

BTW, USPS M-BAG/ISAL from Aaron Leeder to France is usually 6 weeks long : each time i received packages within a large plastic bag as a M-BAG in 40 to 45 days after purchase.

You bought from eBay and didn't pay within 5 days, what did you expect? That is a paypal policy and our policy, nobody cancelled your order because you bought those specific items.   Especially when they were under priced. You had the chance to buy them and didn't, I don't understand where your complaint comes from. We messed up and priced them really low, you had the chance to buy them at that and didn't pay for them and are now complaining about your order being cancelled and us correcting it. AND you got them cheaper later on? Also, doesn't NobleKnight use stock photos as well?

Please just admit your mistakes, and never do them again : unfortunately for your company, shrinking used items to raise selling price is a very bad practice, especially when removing your shrink prooves the item is incomplete. T&T is well known for that.

That is exactly what I am doing. We made mistakes and I don't want them to happen again so I am getting input.  Also, when did that happen? We do re-shrink items but its not to sell them as original shrink.  It is to make sure they are protected and easily put away in the warehouse.

And about shipping: It was brought up in a meeting last night and I will be talking to our shipping manager today. There is no reason we should be 5+ dollars more expensive because we don't have other shipping options. When I referred to it as outlandish before, I meant the price haha. Sorry if that caused some confusion, I meant to say that our price was outlandish compared to his. One of the problems with that red box was that it was mistakenly put into the system as 4 pounds. That should be fixed but its still 6 dollars more expensive :-\ Hopefully I Can get that fixed very soon. Also, I researched M-bags and I am going to look into them more. I was told they were no longer done in the US but I can find it on the USPS website. I have some questions about them, though. How well can you pack things? It also says only things that are printed, so would they have a problem with box sets? So far I have gathered that we need: M-bags and USPS Surface airlift shipping. I THINK they are the same thing?Like an ISAL m-bag or something? Anything else?

We do it because its cleaner and cheaper. Also, if we have mislead anyone I am sorry. Everything that we re-wrap has a big white re-wrap sticker on the back of it along with the grade sticker.  It should NEVER be put in as a shrink wrapped item, this is why if you order a NM box set or a FN box set, sometimes they come in shrinkwrap.

Would you guys be interested in having actual photos of rarer items that you wish to purchase? I would have to convince some people but if you are seriously interested in purchasing one of the rarer items it could be arranged that there are specific photos taken and a more detailed description written up. It takes time but its worth it if one of you are seriously interested in purchasing an uncommon item.  Though if you want scans of a 20 dollar item, it probably wont happen. Pictures of a Fazzlewood, however, could be doable. Bear in mind that we are busy people and if i take 50 pictures for people and nobody buys anything I will have a hard time convincing myself to do it anymore :(

So part of my to do list today is the following:
investigate shipping
investigate Dwarven Glory to see if it is actually complete

Thanks for all the input, good and bad! :-D

Of course we would.   :D

However with the prices Troll and Toad usually charges for the rare items (i.e. 1750 for an OB3), we usually just laugh and say "Those crazy Troll & Toad guys..."

Hi,

the trouble is, of course, that some unscrupulous person down the line (not yourselves of course), might claim it is original shrinkwrap.

If you are serious that you re-shrink items just for convenience, then why not pop a T&T business card in just under the shrink where it can be seen?

Makes it obvious that you re-shrunk it, plus a great advertisement for yourselves.

Cheers,
Malc

That is a very, very good idea. If I can figure out of the business cards we currently use are acid free I can get that going today.  If they have acid in them I might start using a small piece of paper that says something along the lines of "re-shrinked by Troll & Toad."

It never ceases to amaze me, the disgusting level of service and unscrupulous behaviour of some online resellers. The very best we can do is continue to post and promote their wrongdoings as and when they occur. Thankfully, most Acaeum members will not deal with T&T as their attitude and accuracy and 'customer service' are well known here. But that does mean that this thread is not as long and full of horror stories as it could be, and also not widely known.

Now, whatever happened to that female appologist who claimed she'd taken over T&T's eBay operation and was making sweeping changes to all the BS that appeared in their listings? Why did she never return to answer any of the questions we posed, and why were none of the concerns we expressed addressed? Was she sacked? Or was she an imposter? Trolling perhaps?

It's just funny that someone crops up occasionally when they feel they need to do some damage limitation, but the company as a whole won't change its practaces of misleading and exagerating it's listings for financial gain, or 'in error' as T&T have called it.

There is a simple solution to all your company's critics, and one that will increase your company's image and build their standing in the collector community. The solution is this....

Tell the truth. Be specific and accurate, and sack staff members who lie and/or mislead customers.

If your company could be percieved as tructworthy and honest, the amount of money available to collectors here and spent by the boards members, might just come your way occasionally.

That seems reasonable enough to me, in fact it is exactly what we strive for. I am curious as to what we lied about, we never re-shrink something and sell it as original shrink. Ever, if someone did that they would in fact be fired.  This is all an effort to do just that: Truthfully list things, clean up things and be as accurate as possible and if someone is lying, it will definitely be fixed. In order to do that, I need to know about things that have happened. If you know of an item that has a dubious description, I will literally change it right now.

It sounds like several of you have just made up your minds and nothing I can ever do will ever help, T&T will forever be a wretched hive of scum and villainy for you to ridicule.  I am sorry that you will continue thinking that. For those of you that want to offer help, specific examples of things that need to be done or ideas in general: your help is greatly appreciated.  If you think I am not being genuine, come meet me at a con or something. We can talk about it in person.

My concern would be that it seems every 6 months or so, a new member joins the boards here from TnT as the new manager of getting things tidied up, re-graded, re-stocked, re-photographed, etc, etc.

That's not a slight on you, Crimson et al, but with the TnT reputation around these parts, it strikes me as a lot of talk and not much else.

As I said, some of your prices seem reasonable (some not so much!) but until reliability and shipping is brought in line, I'd not even take a punt on a $10 book unfortunately.
