When in direct bidding war with Aussie Acaeum members:

Honestly....

Sounds about right.

I'd drop out for less than a case....maybe a half dozen.

I thus started the Friday Night Supers -- the best/rarest collectibles in the entire 11,000+ piece auction -- and it worked great. Any duplicates, runners-up, etc. got put into a Saturday Night collectibles run, which also worked great.

Nowadays there are so many semi-collectibles (print-run monochromes, for example) that we run those on Thursday night, along with some less-than-top-quality white boxes and non-TSR RPG rares (tho some of the latter might otherwise qualify for the Fri/Sat sessions).

So there's a lot of really good stuff up EVERY night.
But Friday night is where the Ultras appear, especially in the Finale.
I'm bringing one item for the Finale. I'll tell ya when the time is nearer.

Well, it was the first Gencon I've attended, but IMO dividing up the rares and having the ultras Friday night worked GREAT.  I thought you had better attendance and the items went for the highest possible price. My only complaint was the auction running overtime late Saturday caused a few items to go for less than what I thought, but as long as they don't have a ridiculous Spawn car to shill this year   , it should be much better and run on time.  The amount of time wasted on trying to sell that thing TWO nights was just nuts.

For all out there, the auction is truly one of the great spectator sports at Gencon. I attended the nightly auctions Thursday through Saturday and although I bought a mere handful of items, and nothing over $20, I was absolutely riveted each evening as (inevitably) two or more Acaeum members went at it mano a mano.  Truly great entertainment!  And Frank does a masterful job, I hope he's once again handling the rares this year (particularly since I should have a few items going this year and Frank gets the best prices!).

Just be glad you weren't in the middle of a flight with them when it happened.

I'll have to remember to bring my gun to our next D&D session.  You are already pushing a C-cup Mike.  :P

Update... Update... Update...

TIME SLOTS:

Some have not yet responded (see below), but at this point the tentative schedule is starting to look like:

Red Team Friday 2-6
Green Team Saturday 10-2

TEAMS

One change in Team Membership has been approved:

Rabbit_67 has been moved to the Green Team, trading with
NetRodent (moved to the Red Team).

MIA -- Need Info!

I still don't have characters from:

Center_Stage_Hobbies
NetRodent

No time slot preferences from:

Blackmoor, Center_Stage_Hobbies, Killjoy, NetRodent

For Sale?

Although I'm putting this adventure into the auction, it'll be a donation for Charity, and will thus be sold off Saturday 6-ish, well after we're done playing. So there. ;>

According to the Gen Con newsletter I got in my email the other day, Tom Wham is going to be there this year.  Glad to hear that.  I mentioned it to Al last night and I think he about wet his pants.  I guess he is happy to hear about it too.  :P
