I think the going rate on the 1st Print DMG is way down compared to the summer of last year.  It's only in mediocre condition as well.



The seller did cite the Acaeum, so that's a positive!

The Rules Cyclopedia, the Encyclopedia Magica volumes, and probably C2.  Without a picture, I can't imagine he gets any bidders at $125, though I don't think it is a terrible price.  Nothing for a reseller to look at, but if the seller took the effort to sell his stuff individually, he would probably end up with around $125 or so, assuming it was not trashed.

Missed the rules cyclopedia, but encyclopedia magica are pretty common and Ive seen them sell for $5-15, but it doesnt seem hard to get them for under $10

I havent been checking out prices on C2 but it has been an extremely common module.

Outside of the Rules Cyclopedia this is a collection of ballast which sellers usually use to add weight to a small amount of more desirable items. Considering what a buyer can pick up for around $125 this price seems way to high.

A Ptolus with supplements went recently for around $150
Rappan athuk goes for around the same
I recently picked up Dungeon mag #1-20 for $100,
A large set of melee, wizard items went for about $150

The reason you see the complete series books and the old rulebooks sell for under $10 on a regular basis is that sellers are getting them for $1 to $2 in collections or $0 because they are buying the collection for a core group of more desirable items.  The Rules Cyclopedia (depending on condition), $20 - $30, the encyclopedia magica about $5 each, the compleat series books are worthless as are most of the rulebooks and common modules. This is true even as a collector. The $125 should go toward a collection with some decent items in it with these types of books filling it out (and that sometimes works to get a larger price because people overvalue the ballast).

Individually these books are hard sells because they arent worth the cost of shipping. They will pad out someones stock. Some might sell every so often, but the ebay/paypal fees will probably eat up any potential profit.

This guy is looking for a collector who needs almost everything on his list and is willing to pay top dollar for it. And that is for the minimum bid. Ebays crazy though, he may get it.

I believe the BIN was $300 but even at the starting bid of $100 the auction belongs here.  At least the recent set with packing tape on the box that sold for $90 was complete.

The seller seems pretty dense.  They deserve to get nailed with the $4 listing fee for their ridiculous price.  I bet they are just kicking themselves for letter those other books go for $50 when they probably could have got $500 (at least in their minds).

I'm going to offer my copy to him for $500.00
