1e, so I've mentioned that prices are going to do nothing but go up and I've been saying that for 20 years. I think I'm going to stop saying it as it occurs to me it's making me pay more for things as more people believe me.
Yes if you don't sell anything or care about the financial value of your collection, for yourself or your estate future beneficiaries, then saying that market prices are going to just go up is certainly not helping to rein in prices,
lol. It also may be a little risky, involuntarily, as it is unlikely that there won't be some sort of correction sooner or later, and the simplest-minded speculators who bought on your online advice might blame the messenger when that happens.
Not to get further off topic, but my observation for the most high-end rares is that there are maybe five people driving 80-90% of the sales, and you're certainly leading the charge. And not to get mordib, but if something happens to you, god forbid, it will remove a good 15-30% of the leading bids, and flood the market if your collection is being liquidated. I work in estate planning software now :) so I may be a little too comfortable with those questions. I'd say the biggest factor in your own price prediction may very well be how you prepare for your succession! I think you were exploring having a museum for your items? Note: no response expected, and "none of your business" or "not on a public forum" would be fair.
