Al is a fantastic DM and really got us going quickly and set the mood for the entire game. I honestly didnt think we survive until the end but we managed to prevail even though we had a traitor or two in our midst. But at least there were no shrews this time. I am sure Al will give everyone a nice rundown of the game once he gets back home.
Kingofpain89 wrote: And frankly, the best deal of the entire con as far as I am concerned: I picked up MERP Grey Mountains during a Friday afternoon auction for a whopping 8 bucks!

Bracton wrote:Having won the Jaroo Ashstaff (and a signed Tim Kask hat) last year at GenCon, I told Tim that I would bid whatever I had to to win at least one of the two items he was putting up, since each came with another signed hat. And, also because the proceeds go to Tim's charity, Fishing Has No Boundaries. So, I won both. A heavy miniature painted giant ("Billidum") and the Fineous painted figurines. The Fineous set cost me $140 -- it's a fantastic set. I now have the world's exclusive collection of Tim's clothing, other than that owned by Tim himself!
Blackmoor wrote:Well we had a great time; my 10 year old son was hoping it would never end. I myself got about 12 hours sleep in 4 days. I tried a 4th ed game (for 10 hours no less ) and have determine that the new game is crappy crap, it sucks, it's slow, it's stupid, it sucks more and I will not support it at all.But other than that, how did you like the game Jeff???? BTW Blackmoor's observations were echoed by several others at the con. I wonder how this bodes for 4E.....Not to steal the thunder (Sorry Frank ) but I can't keep it in anymore...........Domesday Book #2 went for $18,000 to an secret bidder, Frank will let more details out as he is able too. It's one sheet of paper. ONE.....FREAKING......SHEET. Wow.One other thing........I disintegrated Frank Menzter's treacherous Anti-Paladin. Die fool. Al's game was great Blackmoor killed Frank! Now he can have a shirt made up..."I killed Frank Mentzer". Very fun. I survived with 1 hp. It all came down to one die roll pretty much. No shrews, but lots of panic, suspense and nail biting fun. And Frank casually announcing this was the first time he had gamed at Gencon since 1987. WOW! It made the game extra special for Al, John, Martin, Brendon, Jeff and I. And mention must be made ofthe very, very cool ink prints our own Jaybird (Jason Braun) drew for the game illustrating the baddies, especially the spider demons. I wouldn't mind getting a few sketches from him, his stuff was just incredible. Maybe Al can post some scans at some point. Playing Frank's Module was awesome and he has some real cool news about future stuff as well. Let's just say there may be a chance for others to get a glimpse of Emphyria at some point in the future... Oh yeh ELVES RULE! The Elves beat the crap out of the dwarves (by one point ok, it's all relative)and this was announced by Frank at the Gencon auction no less. My favorite moment of the con watching Al, Martin, Brendon and the rest of the dwarves scurry like rabid shrews at the news..... And I can say this since I contributed ZERO to the elves winning effort. This Gencon was legendary for the sales at the auction and behind the scenes as well. The amount of rare's auctioned off were unprecedented, also behind the scenes 2 ST1's were sold (Thanks Malcolm ), the domesday #2, and tons of other rares as well were sold by Malcolm.
