(aside) The last offer on his auction was pending while all these messages were going to-and-fro. Which he accepted before ending the sale...

I checked back again to the original auction and NOS was explicitly stated. Re-reading the notes, someone else bought one or two at about the same time as my original purchases and his feedback was up to 4 a few days later.

Those are my 2 at $12 each.  I want to do the comparison myself to easier spot future fake resales.

Lety = Leticia Cantoran

one of numerous search sites I ran across, this one is amusing ... you'll notice they share the same address

curious...can you check your orig paypal transaction and see what address is listed on him when you bought them? (not sure if it lists it or not)

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Heh... sorry, Mark; not sure how I missed your post at the end of the last page. For shame, having him deliberately sell counterfeit goods to you at a discount!
His answer, of course, should still have been "no".

(We could probably do with double-checking that peg/post as to the stated variations in height and the nature of that apparent "loop" over the top which might've been to hold a replacement piece in place during the recasting process?)

That was worth checking back... I'd posted the 'phone number correlation to 903-360-4215 (Benches and More) on the other thread but I do have a second number and address as the second part of the transaction was on an invoice from PayPal. ;)

That Troup, TX location came up when I did an online search also.  It's approximately 43 minutes from Troup Texas to Gladewater Texas.  (903) 360-4215 is the contact number I have from my paypal invoice.  And that's the number Michael Pearson gave me for Joe Pendleton last night.

So, I was supposed to call Joe Pendleton last night to confirm the order of 100 TSR buckles for $5,000 (and free shipping!).  Of course I didn't call.

I got a message from Michael Pearson (MP) this afternoon.....

MP - you get ahold of him?
Me - It rang a couple times and then said the voice mail isn't set up*.  Have him call me 414-933-4444.

*That actually happened, but a week or so ago when I tried to call the number after checking my paypal invoice.  The phone number I gave him is the City of Milwaukee Police Department non-emergency number.  :D

MP - ok i will when he calls again
MP - hes gonna call you right now

That was almost two hours ago.  Surprisingly, there hasn't been any follow up messages from Michael Pearson.

I can only imagine the frantic conversation between Joe Pendleton and Michael Pearson after Pendleton called that number!!!  8O

I only have one pony in this race (and I was dumb enough to pay full price for it).  But those of you who bought in bulk from these goofs might want to think about contacting law enforcement (besides eBay and PayPal).

I think it would include the Orange County Sheriff and the Santa Ana Police - for Pendleton.
The Gregg County Sheriff or Upshur County Sheriff - depending what part of Gladewater Pearson lives in.  Could also include the Gladewater Police.
And then the USPS Postal Inspector for both.

that is so funny! I bet Joe had just worked all night and through the morning trying to get that order ready for you before calling that number!!

I saw that address in Troup Tx too. There was a tanning business  PDT_Armataz_01_19  PDT_Armataz_01_32  :colors: "Tyler Untimate Tanning" run out of there
I don't know if his mom still lives there, but I'm guessing she got the house when his parents were divorced (can be looked up in the Gregg county Tx public records.). Both his mom, Peggy and Gary Denmon (assuming step-dad?) were listed at that address.

Interestingly...or not.. he and his mom had another business listed (Joe was the "manager") as theirs called Blue Bonnet Ventures LLC, filed in FL :?:  but with an address in Tyler Tx as well as the Troup Tx one. That "business" closed in 2012.

I'm sure the address is Santa Ana is a house owned by the parents of "the wife". I'd bet that any address they put on their return label or listed on ebay/paypal is probably not one that they reside in

My fb messenger conversation actually continued with Micheal Pearson (MP) last night  8O

MP - did he call you sir
Me - What happened to the eBay auction for the TSR buckles?  Looks like it was ended early?
MP - hes in texas visiting his mom an dforgot to relist them did he ever call you
Me - What part of Gladewater do you live in?  Gregg County or Upshur County?  So I know which sheriff's department to contact.
You can't advertise reproductions as "new old stock" or originals.  That's fraud.
Oh yeah, I'm also contacting the USPS Postal Inspector.  Mail fraud is a FEDERAL offense.
And let Joe know I'll be contacting the Orange County Sheriff and the Santa Ana Police also.
Me - Oh yeah, you guys can stop with the "this is the wife and my husband is sick" replies to the eBay counterfeit item complaints also.
All this info has been disseminated and everyone knows what you two are up to.

These guys are like dumb and dumber.  And, they don't communicate with each other very well.  Or the lure of $5k is too much to resist.  I have a sneaking suspicion that if this transaction had actually happened, I would never have seen the 100 buckles.  But at least the payment would have been made through PayPal (for what that's worth).

Well everyone I must say I am not sure if I should feel bad for starting this thread or not.  I was initially just excited and  wanted to share the find with my fellow collectors.  But now I feel bad that not only myself but that others have lost money to these aholes.  But at the same time I am glad that we TSR enthusiasts quickly got to the bottom of this fraud and have now hopefully prevented it from continuing and not allowing more of these from entering our collectible market.  Who knows maybe even these fakes might end up collectible one day just because of this.  But they will always never be the real thing.  Any way to all those that purchased these because of my initial posting I am sorry  PDT_Armataz_01_04

The worst part is there are now many more counterfeit buckles out there than real ones.  Makes trying to buy a legit buckle on ebay (not a face to face sale) nearly impossible.

Yeah.  Lots and lots of good pictures and questions about the items history will be needed.

Had you not done what you did, those douchebags would have made more counterfeit items.

My response from the seller when I filed a counterfeit claim -

"no refunds sorry they are reproductions"

As of now, I have to wait until the Ebay allotted time goes by to push for my refund.  I'm going to try to get Ebay to accelerate this since they've admitted they were fakes.

Anyone pursuing legal action?  I'll file a complaint as well.  :)
