NICE! Would love to have one myself, but alas... A 720 sq. foot apartment wouldn't have room.

So not sure if anyone else is into boardgames as well, but this arrived with another boardgame I bought on eBay.  Was listed in the posting as a home-built game and tossed in as a bonus.  As I was paying a really decent price for the other game, figured it wasnt going to hurt to have this tossed in even if it probably doubled the shipping costs.

What it ends up being is a Playtest copy of Avalon Hills Starship Troopers game (Which I own a copy of).  Book, forms, hand drawn counters and some of the letters to the testers and copies of responses back to AH.  After reading a few of the letters, there were 5 playtest leaders listed, so I would take that as only 5 copies of this were made and sent to the play test people? (Assuming other copies were used for internal testing).

No clue if all the counters are there as there is not any inventory quickly visible (not read too much yet), but still pretty cool to see the early draft counters and documents and even the letters pointing out where things are missing or where future expansions will be.  Letters are from April 1976 from Randy Reed who was head of AH R&D in the late 70s, more in June and last letter is from October 1976 talking about the success of the game release at GenCon and arranging compensation for the testers.  Copies of the testers respones are from April and June.

Interesting piece of gaming history.  Original play tester that this belonged to was based in Maryland, I got it from seller in Texas, so it has nearly made its way across the country in 40 years lol.

And now the latest coolness for me. Finally got a copy of the original at a decent price. And it is in great shape. Outside of the dents and dings mentioned, it's nice and clean, and the staples are not even corroded. There was a more used copy that ended a day or two later at a slightly cheaper price, but I would not change my mind about which to bid on one bit.

One more off the list.  :D

So this arrived this week.  3rd printing, but still happy to have one to sit on the shelf, and nearly perfect condition as well.

Yesterday I picked up a copy of I4 Oasis of the White Palm in the original shrink.  It's been so long since I've seen original TSR module shrink.  Totally brought back memories of thumbing through all the cool stuff at the local Toys R' Us when I was a kid.

Only bad thing, it HAD a cardboard hanger on it.  The hanger is gone, but the shrink is intact!  :D
