Might as well add the 2nd print GH to the list of things that will be interesting to watch in this auction. Recently came across one in my collection with a post-it note on the sleeve saying "do not sell!".

Hopefully that's not Greg Stafford's copy I sent you back along with the woodgrain, gone astray?

*nods* 2nd GHs are still "undervalued", IMO, and that's a fairly respectable looking copy.

I am watching the pencil. I sold a unused one several years ago. That was cool.

We shall see... My truck died today so I am hoping it is a respectable amount.

I have had the woodgrain for over 12 years now - I will miss it. On to a good home I say!

Astute, as usual David, I got the one for auction in a good trade for a whole set of G and D Aussies. Then you and I had to duke it out for the G1 to replace the damaged one.

That pencil and the Dragonslayer sticker have been on Ebay before! They owe me my fees back for not selling the first time around. Good to see they are doing their job this time.

How much did your pencil go for? After this one failed to sell, I sharpened it and used it while gaming - apparently that increased its value!

Also one listing shows a picture different from the title (There are Two Baba Yagga Hut title listings and only one has that picture)

Whats the deal with the basic set in shrink? I looked to see if there was anything specifically noteworthy about it, and nothing is ringing my bell for $300 (where it's at currently). The bidder list leads me to think I'm missing something.

It may not have been a Holmes, but Doug got a SWed box set (maybe it was two sets) along with a large near mint TSR product display stand about a year ago.
He set them up for exatly that (display) at last years convention.

Paul's copy for sale is not a first print Holmes Basic Set. The cover shows Wizard Logo and he describes it as 7th print in the listing:

This is what I was tracking as well; since the price is already an outlier (to the Gygax collection point), I was wondering what it was that was pushing it so high.

There is actually another shrinked copy up right now. Not in as a good shape, and sitting at 0 bids starting at $60. They are not common, but they do pop up often enough..
