I'd pay up to $400 for the box itself (depending on condition, and up to $100 for each of the 3 books (I've picked up the books as cheap as $40 each though, although I have not Frankenstiened a complete set yet...).
So to try to answer your question, you're ratio's are almost correct... just a little less... After all, people generally want to buy a whole boxed set, not just one book.
I'd say there might be a little more variance in price due to the fact that a 1st print brown box set (or partial) has the potential for such a high value.
2) "White Box"
These books are a slightly more common outside the box, but usually in the set of three. A set of three books sells for around $100. The box for about the same.
IMHO, these (the box and set of books individually) almost sell for what the whole set is worth, just a little less. So there's less of a variance between the White Box sets in whole, or separate.
