I'm sure (of my memory isn't failing me) that there uses to be 90k+ rpg items on ebay.. now there are 59k.. 8000  of those are minis.. 4100 are items from KN...1000 items from T&T? looking at T&T web site it seems they are only showing 380 rpg items in stock and there new look web site seems to indicate that they have reduced their inventory by quite a bit.. and looking at their buy lists they don't seem to have one for RPG's now at all?

on top of that prices seem to be rising (less items to choose from? even the 'common stuff"?) some prices are drastically increased? (lot more older people with disposable money?)

Or money is worth less. Some of what you mention sounds like it has to do with the way items are categorized on eBay, & may represent changing habits of sellers. In the case of T&T, they may have finally figured out that they're just no good at selling RPGs.

It does look like T&T are out of rpgs.. almost all their remaining rpg stock is 49cents...
