Hello everyone, while working on rebuilding my lost collection of my youth, I ended up with two copies of 5th print runs of the A D and D MM.  They both read Advanced D & D on the spine.  This site reads "Spine:
"Advanced Dungeons & Dragons" in white lettering (altough a copy has been spotted with "Advanced D&D" instead)
States "by Gary Gygax" for 5th print runs.  So my question is...is the version i have worth anymore than the version that spells it all out on the spine?  Or are these rather common?  Any advice is appreciated.  Cheers!

Hi, I don't think the value wouldn't be any different. A.l the fourth "editions"/printings (and on) are very widely available. There's a little bump in price on a 3rd printing depending on the condition, but it's really the 1st two printings that are the more valuable versions

Thanks for your response.  I did not know if a bunch with the alternate wording had been found at this point or if they were considered rare.  I appreciate your thoughts.

The alternate-wording version is quite a bit more rare.  It's just not any more valuable.

Every time one of these threads pops up, I get excited.  Aha!, I say to myself.  Maybe my 20th print whatever really IS worth something!!

Sadly, this has not happened.  Yet.
