Hi all

Recently I have been sorting through all my heaps of stuff trying to get a comprehensive catalog of it all and getting rid of any extras.  So today I was sorting through my Menzter 5th prints and I discovered some variances between them.  I have 4 copies of this printing (or so I thought) one in shrink and three open ones.  When I was looking through them I noticed that there was two noticeable different shades of blue between the boxes, one darker and one lighter.

Here they are with the shrink copy in the upper left of the picture.

It is more apparent when you stack the boxes

I turned around the copies and noticed some other differences on the back

Looking closer there is different info on the bottom corners

The inside rulebook  appears to be identical matching the blue shades of the covers

The X1 module looks very close, (one is a hair taller than the other) could be a printing difference (no pics of these) but to subtle to be definitive.

CONCLUSION

These have to be considered different printings so we can say a 6th printing (or perhaps 5A and 5B) exists and should be updated on the website :)

Cheers all

Er, rather I'd say you found that there's a UK (foreign) print, right?

Just to clarify, the two dark blue are identical to each other and the two light blue are identical to each other? My first thought was UK printing as well, but they both have the UK address, just in different corners, so....

Yes identical, I doubt that these are UK printings, I bought all of these from local sources mostly in large lots.

I carried onto the Masters and Companion sets and found some more distinctive printings.

I have three printings of the companion sets (Acaeum describes two)

Here they are side by side

I checked my copies of the Immortals and Wrath of the Immortals and did not find any differences in my copies (although I have only two of each)

There may be more printings. Just to be clear I never actually went out and pursued these boxes in particular, just after years of buying lots and mixed items these differences were just the ones I have kept,  I think at one point I had 12 copies of the Companion Set and 8 of the Masters Set. These things used to be so inexpensive back in the day it was just easier to buy large lots through the Bargain Finder paper (that's real old school LOL), sort through them and just fill in the odd gap through Ebay or other online sources.  Collecting now is so much harder, you have people wanting $200 for a beat up Players Handbook on Kijiji or Craig's List; you never find large lots at yard sales anymore.

Nice discoveries! I wish I'd been more proactive with some purchasing 10 or 15 years ago when bulk lots were still plentiful and inexpensive.

Checking my prints for the blue book #2001 which lead to looking thru the basic sets #1001 and I found a difference not listed here.

The last line on the bottom left changes from "Randomizer Chits" to "Randomizer chits bound in game book"
