How can I get a complete copy of this piece of art and when was the point of divergence from the original piece of art? What do orginal printings look like?[ Image ]

The mystery picture I found via google image search clearly depicts a 3rd claw. I'm curious what an orginal printing looks like.

I'll post a picture over the weekend if someone else doesn't beat me to it.Allan.

The missing appendages should be there, just that the printing is a bit off to the right, so the pages obscure the art.

Traveller wrote in OD&D: The case of the Missing Lizard-Man foot:The OD&D reprint should have gone out of its way to replace all the David Bell artwork. His pieces are truly cringe-worthy.
Traveller wrote in OD&D: The case of the Missing Lizard-Man foot: but if sauromatian has any say about it, he would probably remark that it came from the same place my opinion of Bell's chicken scratches came from, my ass.
Traveller wrote in OD&D: The case of the Missing Lizard-Man foot:@sauromatian: In this particular case, where Hasbro went and replaced the covers, they should have simply gone all the way here. It would have done the reprint a world of good. To call Bell's work art is to do a disservice to art itself. I've seen amateurs younger than Bell presumably was when he drew this crap do a better job.@TGMoore: Of course, but given that the covers on the reprints are not original in the first place, it's a moot point. And yes, I think you're right in that his first name is Greg. Dunno where I got "David" from, but if sauromatian has any say about it, he would probably remark that it came from the same place my opinion of Bell's chicken scratches came from, my ass.
