I'm going with not. There's no indication that it's limited edition and I'm sure that they'll be all over the mass market outlets. Anything 5E has pretty much got to be LE to be worthwhile. If you haven't looked at Volo's Guide to Monsters prices lately you'll probably be shocked.

Everything TSR is collectable. I am sure many pre ordered two copies. Many will only open one.

If the amount produced isnt enough to cover demand at launch, collect ability will go up quick. The amount produced will catch up, and collect ability will fall. If D&D popularity grows over the next $20 years, so will the collect ability.

What were silver anniversary sets originally priced? Those seem to have taken a ride over the long haul.

I see it as something "made to be collectible", which generally means it not.

There's nothing wrong with buying something like that though. I own some "Collector's Print Sets" from Artists I like. and they are pretty limited. But I still don't think of them as collectible.
I do get something to enjoy, and all of the people that are a part of it's making and distribution get some money.

In this particular case, I would be interested in seeing what the dice look like.
