Hello everyone,

By the way, sorry in advance if I have posted this in the wrong place.
Please direct me where I should do this in the future if I made a mistake, and by all means... feel free to move this to the correct forum location.

I am a bit puzzled here by the ISBN on this Greyhawk folio.
I mean it looks like the same configuration as the first printing 'stamp', but its location is a bit lower than what I would presume to be the normal location for the first printing.
And to be honest, I have no idea how to tell if it's stamped or printed.
To me, it looks printed.
The contrast of the ink is a bit lighter than the relative text on the 'banner'.  If that is indicative of something, I don't know.
I own this, so I am giving you my comments based on direct natural observation of the item.

Any insight here would be appreciated.

Thanks.

- B

If you look at the copyright symbol on the first and second prints they are different sizes. The first print is noticeably smaller.

World of Greyhawk

Yours looks like a first print to me.
Hope that helps.

That is a first print.

Those were a bit more popular when I first joined the site, but there still seemed to be confusion.  The small "C" in a circle and "1" that look like capital "I" are the key. I was never certain how a stamp, by hand, could be so precisely placed copy after copy.

Soory, youre referring to the bottom right corner (where the "I" is part of the ISBN), arent you?

Its both. The "1" in 1980 looks like a "I". Also, I should have mentioned the dashes. They are at a down angle - only on this print.

Hate to bump an old thread but this is a related question.

Trying to match my maps to my folios. I have a set of maps w the (c) 1980, TSR printed (perhaps stamped) in lower right of the back (white) side. The paper is matte not glossy. Which does that match?

Thanks in advance,
Old Man
