I was going through a large D&D collection I picked up locally (Lake Geneva) and found two of these hiding out.

They were bounded upside down.

Yes, this happened occasionally.  They are usually not worth much more than the standard book, usually less.  There are some exceptions to a decreased value, but not many.  Might be good to keep as a curiosity.

To demonstrate how often printing/production errors happened, take a look at the many misprint threads that have come up in the past:

Is it just me? Or, does this seem to happen more to 2E books than any other?

I think it happened towards the end of TSR's ownership as they may have been in a rush to get stuff out the door. I have no evidence of this, just my thought on the subject.
