There is such a thing as "museum glass" for prints and artwork.  This supposedly blocks harmful UV rays, and it also has other qualities which help showcase art.  I purchased museum glass for my Acaeum art prints, but that's it.  I suspect as long as your art isn't exposed to sunlight or sun reflections, you aren't going to have any noticeable damage over decades, but that's just my opinion.  

Displaying is important to me, but I rotate.  Especially items with bright colours.  No sunlight.

Desicant packets work well. They are cheap and come in all sorts of sizes.

I'm sad it's come to this for you and your collection.    The reality is I don't display that much of my collection either, but the few pieces I do display evoke memories and adventures which aren't displayed.

Which brings to mind a question; does anyone display items, photos, artwork(s) which communicates your love for collecting, whatever it is that you collect, but isn't that valuable/rare itself?  I know that there are folks who have reprinted comic book covers as mini posters, for example, in their home to highlight their love of that comic book (or character) without having to expose that specific collectible to the elements and general public.  I've even seen where people redraw or repaint certain works of art, like the Monster Manual cover, to display in their homes.  This might be a good compromise for some people.

If you control humidity, mold won't grow.

Light will damage things over time.  You should keep the foot candles low and rotate your items on display to let them rest.  This is common practice in the archives I have worked at that display materials.  If you just care about the stuff for your life time it probably won't matter much, but in my business we are trying to keep these things "alive" in perpetuity.
