My understanding, it looks like someone put it behind guitar strings and played for a while.

As someone who's owned (and still owns some of these) 1st print DMG in two of it's flame colorations, 2nd Alpha, 2nd Beta, 4th print, 5th and 6th variations as noted on the Acaeum site, I've never seen anything that fits the 3rd print descriptions.  I would like to see a pic sometime of a 3rd print if it exists.  I have seen every variety of the 1st thru 6th prints except this one.  The only record I know of that mentions it is the Silver Anniversary set where Gary recounts the printing process of the DMG.  Without some kind of evidence I sometimes wonder if there was no third print as we have it.  That said, it's speculation on my part and I know absence of evidence is not necessarily evidence of absence.  I'd be curious to see if the scarred 3rd print exists.  Does anyone have a pic of that?  It would be helpful to know what to look for in case one is spotted.

I could be misremembering, but wasn't there an auction for one years ago? Maybe around '05 or '06, that generated some discussion here?

Just so we are all clear, "Susan" is actually Bill on Facebook.  Bill shares his wonderful wife Susan's Facebook account.  Susan rarely posts anything that is D&D related.  She doesn't frequent The Acaeum at all, that's just Bill as "stratochamp".

I've been looking for this one too at least a little longer than I've been a member here, and I'm not sure I've seen one yet for sale either. (That one from a few years ago I'm vaguely remembering that I wasn't very convinced, or maybe I was and I don't remember now lol)
