The cover reminds me of a first print, but the "D" isnt all that over the edge. I also see a purple coat on, what I perceive to be, early first prints.

That is a 1st print... Re to thr end price, it is acceptable considering the nice conditions of the book.

And that's fair.

I'm just glad I'm not really into the first printing of this stuff. The subsequent printings are costly enough.

Makes me glad there are PDFs of this material being sold at a reasonable price online. I had to rely on a pdf of the 1980 D&D Basic this past Sunday in introducing the game to my youngest nephew. (Which he loved—and even told me "I'm into this!")

An exaggeration, 1977 OCE (6th) at earliest. I've asked the seller a question:
"Greets. In book 1, are there prices in the catalog list (last page)? Thanks in advance..."

His cryptic response:

"In 3 places it says "booklet only" then a price."

Uh, yeah. Right.
