Awhile back I got a new laptop - old one crashed.
Downloaded Auctionsieve, no problem...

However, it needs Java Runtime Envirionment 1.3 or higher to run.
Downloaded and installed Java Ver. 8 no problem...

Clicked on the Auctionsieve icon and it says I need Java.

What gives? Anyone know? Do I have the Irish Problem?

Or do I just need to get a previous JRE version?

Hey there jkason!

Which OS are you using?
Which setup file did you download?
If you bring up a terminal or command prompt and run
java -version
What does it show?

Ok, I think I have a solution for this.
I'm fairly sure you're using Windows, given the error.
You need to go here : https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
and download the "Windows Offline" setup. Note: make sure you get that one (the 32 bit version), not the 64 bit "Windows Offline (64-bit)" version.
