How do you all answer questions about the smells of a book? I spent a bit of time smelling things today. Everything smells like something. I keep thinking of peoples expectations and was smelling books like a wine tasting.
No cigarette smells, but I smell "old book," "kids library," vanilla, "the smell of a lot of DnD" books/vanilla," and many I can only describe as "paper." I happen to love the smell of "a lot of DnD"
btw, but I think the question is coming from someone who wouldn't want a smell. I let them know it does have one.
Just
FYI, my collection is in a tiny room I built. Its sealed with plastic sheeting behind the walls and the walls are plastic, it has a outdoor sliding glass door and its currently at 62 degrees and 42% humidity. Summer humidity doesn't get above 60%. Not everything I get makes it into the room. But things have a smell when you put your nose in it.
The room doesnt have a smell, but almost everything is bagged, boarded and in a large top loader.
