Anybody seen these before? Somebody contacted me with full sets of Monster Card Sets 1-4, minus the title cards, that have plain backs with the monster name, "postcard" and "place stamp here" on the back.

That’s a new one to me, Adrian.

I double-checked the new postcards set from WotC at https://www.amazon.com/dp/1984824627 and the back texts and graphic design are different.

Allan.

Maybe it was a proof of print of a product different than the final product...

If you brightly illuminate the front of the card (so that the light is diffused and can be seen through the card), can you see the original monster card text between the postcard back and the monster card face?

I had a buddy in the 80s who used to convert card stock art into postcards by adhering a custom postcard backing to a pre-existing card stock art card.  It was a fun idea, and he made it sound like it was something that people do and not just a “him thing”, lol

I’ve never seen any like that.

I don't have them in hand, but I asked to fellow who emailed me about them.

My first inclination was to assume they were homemade / self produced. Guess we'll see what I hear back.
