Hya, I remember that ages ago we discussed somewhere in the forum about the different types of boxes of D&D Moldvay set.

Now, I have a real example of the two different boxes... the problem is that both boxes contain a 1st print D&D book!

I am nearly sure that someone already has the answer, but first the question is required: what is the first print run for the Moldvay D&D basic set? Is the type 1 or 2 in the pics here below?

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Your second image matches my 1st Moldvey (8th overall) printing.
Your first image matches my 2nd Moldvey (9th overall) printing.

Thanks! I was nearly sure of the contrary... so the type2 is a real 1st print... while the type1 i may have 1st print contents but it is not a 1st print box! (Btw what i call 1st print Moldvay is commonly defined as 8th print basic set!)
