Hey, uh. I did some work at identifying the artists for every AD&D trading card but I got stuck past a certain point. Wrote up as far as here.

AD&D Trading Cards 1991: Finding All Artists

Can anyone help me ID the artists for the cards that are missing?

Also, does anyone know anything about an artist known as Robin Raab? There's a number of cards attributed to that person, but they're all Clyde Caldwell traces. There's also other cards that are also Caldwell traces, but I don't know Raab did all of them - and other traces, which I have failed to identify so far. I've gotten a little tired at this point, to be quite honest, and most the artists aren't taking mails anymore. All the Raab art I can find is abstract page decorations, a back cover in a Rules Cyclopedia, and a few chapter openers in a late Dragonlance novels.

Also, I suspect now that the Goblin Spider (456) and Seiroku Ashida (455) are not exactly unused art, but likely instead from a catalog, which sometimes use unfinished art to make mockups of book covers. If anyone has an early yearly TSR catalog, can you take a look and tell me if you spot any of the unidentified cards?

That's a great and extensive project you are undertaking!
Robin Raab was a freelance artist that I believe Jeff Easley knew. I'm fairly certain a number of those cards are by Robin even though there's no obvious signature. I haven't looked through all of the list since there's so many. Maybe reach out to Jeff to ask more info? A while back Jeff was helping to sell some of Raab's work.

I could have sworn that Carol Heyer did some small-ish card art, too, but that might have been for another card game, like Spellfire. I was thinking Ken Frank, too.

Update: No news on the "ask Easley" front, but I came across something.

The Forgotten Realms 1990 calendar has a piece that contains the picture for Seiroku Ashida and the Goblin Spider. I thank the person who put those pictures up on the Amazon listing.

For whatever reason, they are flipped from their position in the calendar. At this point, I'm gonna take the W.

Also someone on Reddit managed to find two of the ones that had been troubling me: the Hyena is from Dog Days of Summer, by Larry Elmore, 1986 Amazing Stories Calendar, and Ragna is from the cover of Conan the Mercenary, also by Elmore.
