Hi,

while working on The Temptation of Elminster at the Forgotten Realms Wiki, I came across the image currently used in Wikipedia - the very deep-fried one with the green-glowing ring of stones and two wizards in red robes. I've been able to determine it was used promotionally in Dragon 232 and Dragon 233 for the novel. I was wondering, does anyone have a copy of the TSR catalog for 1998? If so, just out of curiosity, can you check if that image was used to promote the book there, too?

Not really.  It's a small low-res picture.  It was probably a mock-up image that was replaced by the cover previously posted.

It looks like the female is actually holding onto the male with her left arm, and either attempting to steal the pouch on his side, or holding onto it for some reason.
