This came up in a FB discussion and I thought I would share here.
I'd love to hear other collectors tips and tricks as well!
1. Buy mylites 2 (2mm) magazine size bags. These are mylar and will never have top be replaced in your lifetime if you are over 50. For thinner items you can add an acid free backing board. A lot of items are too thick for backing boards. The best price for these is egerber.com. If anyone has a better price please let me know!
2. Backing boards - the "best" boards are the full backs from egerber but they are so thick it's really not viable for what we collect. Any standard "acid free" board is fine, be sure the "slick" side is towards the book. These need to be replaced every 5 years but you can push that up to 10 years if you store in a cool dark environment.
3. Store modules, Hardbacks, and magazines in standard Magazine sized boxes.
I REALLLLY like these for my comics since you can go vertical with them but i have not made the jump for my magazine yet.
The Collection Drawer: Order Online4. For BOX sets buy "CGC MAGAZINE" (not CGC comic) sized boxes. They are the perfect width for box sets but have about 3 inches of extra room vertically (you can trim them if you want).
