I was wondering during my intense eBay buying/selling activity what are the choicest pieces of game collecting, especially RPGs, outside the US and possibly in a language different from English   . The Acaeum has some non American presence, so we could help illuminate our overseas friends  

I will start with Italy. Currently, the most sought after RPGs seem to be:

Kata Kumbas first edition (1984): this was one of the very first 'true' Italian RPGs and it was set in a fantasy version of Italy called Laitia. It came boxed and in 1988 it got a second edition in hardback book form. The boxed edition is valued around 100 euros, the hardback one around 60-70 euros.
Uno Sguardo nel Buio (1986). this was an Italian translation of the German Das Schwarze Auge fantasy RPG. The first, boxed edition is valued - if complete - wello above 100 euros. The hardback second edition, out in 1988, is worth around 50-60 euros.
VII Legio (1982): this is a strange boardgame/RPG hybrid set in a far future where the Solar Republic esplores the galaxy. It has very beautiful artwork by Cadelo and it's sought after not only from RPG fans but boardgaming ones too. A nice copy of VII Legio shoudl be worth around 150 euros.
Magikon (1982): another very weird hybrid between boardgame and RPG with a fantasy theme. It's governed by a 'precedents' game mechanic. If players agree to a certain system to solve something, it becomes a rule of the game. It' devilishly hard to find - it took me TEN YEARS to find a complete copy due to all the pesky parts. My best guess is worth AT LEAST 250 euros - never seen one on eBay.it
Vampire the Masquerade: this is still very sought for. A mint copy ot the core rulebooks is worth 60-70 euros - not bad for a gem out of print here since two years!
MERP:a beautiful copy of the first edition is worth aroudn 60-70 euros; ditto for the second edition: the third edition, the best and strangely the hardest to find, could be worth around 80 euros.

And let's not forget...
D&D Set 1 - Basic Rules: a mint, shrinkwrapped copy is worth at least 300-400 euros IF it comes from the original, Spanish print run (the very first print run of D&D in Italian was done in Spain along the Spanish version and it has various references to TSR then removed in successive printings). Very, very valuable - I have never seen one in the last 20 years...    albeit I own a very nice copy not shrinkwrapped

There is good stuff in France, really, and some are valuable.

Les Années Folles, a french box for CoC, that describe France, during the 1920'. A great work, not rare, but valuable, around 100 Euros.
It is not rare, but it is a great stuff!

For Amber RPG, there is a Tarot, superb. I have posted several links in the past. Around 80 Euros, but it can get higher!

For MERP (JRTM in French), 'le royaume perdu du Cardolan' is rare, and I think that 'les ruines hantées des dunéens' is very rare. I would say 30 Euros for the first one, 75 for the second, but they are hard to find.

For the french RPG Reve de Dragon, the earlier supplements are valuable too.

The D&D boxes in french (base, expert, compagnon) are very sought for.

You should take a look on ebay.fr... this boxed set come "often", around 1 every 3-4 months and never go for more than 15-20€... I got 3 complete copies at a moment...

No there is not... however perhaps a translation have been done recently with D20 system.



In France I can add



-the Codex boxed set for Agone. If complete it can go for more than 200€ (only 250 numeroted copies were made).



- for Call of Cthulhu: l'Affaire Jonatan Deluze.



And a lot of other ones I never see on ebay nor on french forums like



- non-TSR generic module from publishers like Etoile du Sud, NEF, Schizoide, Thierry Lacoste, AMJ (Mars knows some of them), Editions du dragon ludique, Nergal etc. released during 80's.



- Boucanier: a french self pub game in 1990.



- Donjons et Dragons by Maraninchi, Solar Edition (released in 1982 but not a translation of D&D, so the book was stopped quickly and very few copies exist).



- Laborinthus, a Swiss RPG written in french. Certainly the rarest one in french. And a real piece of artwork. Wonderfull stuff.



and many others (La compagnie des glaces 2nd ed., Avant Charlemagne, Hurlements, some supplements for IN NOMINE SATANIS too, Yurl'h (limited at 100 copies), etc) in a range of 40-100€



I have 2 finnish very rare RPG too:

- ANKH (adventurers of the north - Kalevala Heroes).

- Miekka ja Magia (a digest size book) (and a special thanks to the rahib to find it for me in Finland)

Gak!  How did I miss that!?!?!  Any idea where it was found?

Just to close the loop, it was sold for $1800 to a collector in France.

Now there are more easy to find... There is many rarest modules from France than Le Dernier Cercle modules.
For example Thierry Lacoste modules like "Le tombeau d'Hyrphas".
There is Nergal Moduleswith one designed for D&D oriental adventures.
Or all the AMJ modules.
They are all designed for all fantasy RPG and especially D&D
