That has to be one of the most wonderfully tacky things I've ever seen in someone's house.

Does anyone else remember back in th early 70's when a number of people had those golden ceramic cobras with red jewel eyes...or the black bull with red jewel eyes in their living rooms?

How about Elvis glow-in-the-dark velvet posters?

A giant wooden spoon and fork set, wooden African/pseudo-African totems or masks, avocado-colored appliances and shag carpet . . .

. . . but not at my house, fortunately. OTOH, I have lived in apartments that have had furnishings and appliances from the 70s or earlier, and they were better than anything that I owned.

I forgot the giant wooden fork and spoon set. We had that!

What was it with the 70's and the orange and lime/avocado color scheme?

Not a laughable description as such but certainly something that gets eBay interested. If you're selling Cthulhu Keeper's Companion 2, leave out the word 'Firearms' from the subtitle or your listing goes off for vetting - which is great because they accept the fee but Turbo Lister doesn't flag the problem. Anyone know if they start the listing duration from zero once they are happy you're not running guns?

Or even 70's architectural features. Friend of mine bought a house which was real treasure trove of unreconstructed 1970s design and the previous owner had punched a 7' wide 'groovy' egg shaped hole in the wall between the dining room and the living room :lol:

Seller durthang has some interesting auctions but has disdain for one lot. He titled this auction "2 Fake D&D Books -- Midkemia Press, Dimension Six, AD&D":

I like his honesty. He describes the Midkemia book as "Boring" and the Mountains of Mystery as "Hilarious." Reading his non-collector attitude is refreshing: "The first title is actually sort of rare and maybe valuable. Whatever."

Funny...just picture the look on his face when he sees what the final price on that lot is going to be....! (north of fifty bucks I'd imagine).
