For the life of me, I used to own an early edition Palladium RPG book in the early-to-mid 1980's, but I can't find the cover anywhere online.

It's NOT either of these:

It was the core rulebook - not a sourcebook or supplement.

It had a nicely painted cover - but I can't remember of WHAT?  It definitely wasn't the jet black cover with red writing..

Can anyone point me to a complete listing of Palladium RPG covers, or does anyone know of an early edition cover that looked different from these?

The black and red cover in 1988.

There is a previous edition in 1983.

When you say "Palladium RPG" do you mean the Palladium Role-Playing Game, later renamed the Palladium Fantasy Role-Playing Game, or just that it was a roleplaying game put out by Palladium?

Maybe I'm just imagining this..

I could scan it for you, if you wanted, but it sounds like you already said it isn't a black cover with red lettering.  I honestly don't know what the printing before mine looks like, bit maybe that is the one you are seeking.  (I can't find a pic of it online, either.)

Thank you Kat!  But sadly, this cover doesn't look familiar.  I thought there was one that had a similar cover art style  as "The Old Ones" Palladium book.  I.e., the cover looked like it might have been done by the same artist as this one:

The more I research it, the more I must be mistaken.  My memory has gotten the best of me.

I must have had the black/red cover, because I know I got the book in '83/'84 time frame.

It is the same, the url given is for a t-shirt on the Palladium website, with the illustration being in the top corner of the T-Shirt :)

Ah, yes!  :D  That's the cover I have.  Good find... I couldn't find it anywhere online, for some reason.
