What game system did they use before for their rpg? 3.x D&D?

The local game store I visited on Free RPG Day was stacked with stuff for Warmachine.

I was surprised. Apparently, I turned my back and Warmachine took over for both Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000.

Sounds like much ado about nothing.

Yet another RPG system is exactly what is not needed at the moment...even less than we need yet another fantasy RPG campaign setting or more steampunk modules.

(Literally every game designer at the moment: "Hey, wait! I've got a great idea! Let's do something totally different! Steampunk!")

I guess a proportion of Warmachine players will purchase it...even Warmachine seems to be on its way out at the moment.

Nice opinion..wrong on facts

Warmachine/Hordes is no where near its way out..they are constantly expanding. The RPG while similar in rules to Warmachine/Hordes is still the setting of the old Iron Kingdoms d20 RPG. The prices on Ebay right now are just those wanting something now instead of waiting a couple months.

My opinion is Privateer Press does superb writing and art work in all their products - Paizo I would say comes in second to that.

The Iron Kingdoms Full Metal Fantasy Roleplaying Game: Core Rules release date has been moved up to September 19!

Ordinarily, we plan our release dates to account for extended production and freight times. Fortunately, our shipment of Iron Kingdoms Core Rules books has arrived ahead of schedule. Rather than holding the books until their originally planned October release, we are pleased to release the Iron Kingdoms Core Rules early!
