I do not believe there has been RPG-licensed soda before, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just glad this is around, because it makes my collection of D&D action figures seem sane by comparison.

Mountain Dew has some fantasy-inspired metal bottles. They are not officially licensed, but I like them better. And, there was a new "Cthulhu Dew" (what I am calling it-- it has a huge smiling squid) released, so it wins. Plus, its Dew. Dew is mandatory D&D juice.

But, I agree -- cool concept, but I'm not a huge fan of the art on these ones.

8O   I bet they will sell a bunch of this stuff. Some guy will even buy crap loads of it and set up a booth at Gen Con. And they will be at the auction...crap.

Hey it's Jones!  I already buy the rootbeer & cola.  

Yes it is expensive BUT it is comparatively more healthy for you than regular pop.  I rarely will drink a regular soda as the corn syrup used as the sweetener is what causes weight gain and rots tooth enamel.  By comparison your body knows how to assimilate the cane sugar in something like Jones soda.  Any of these cane sugar based sodas is a much better product for you if not taken excessively.

Incidentally there is a powerful corn syrup lobby that keeps the price of cane sugar artificially high so that soda producers are discouraged from using it.  The high tariffs on cane sugar is why the price is higher for a Jones soda, not because of licensing or these guys are tooling around in Ferraris.  Their costs for making a better product are higher because the corn syrup guys can't compete on an even field.  Keep that in mind when you buy a regular soda ...more soda producers would use cane sugar if the price weren't so high, so you are being denied a much better product so some guy can sell more corn syrup.


Who says my inspiration was D&D?  That was just a background phenomenon.

I'm with Ak'Ptui on the corn syrup thing... vile shit. It gives me the worst acid reflux.

If you must drink soda pop stick with sugar based ones.

...Don't even get me started on diet soda's artificial sweeteners ... and if you're diabetic you should be drinking healthier stuff besides soda... like water or tea.

I wish I didn't hate the new (post 1985-6) D&D... or I might buy a case
