Does anyone know what miniature manufacturer stamped their minis 'Tom'.  I'm trying to figure out who made this giant that I've got.

Got a pic? And is 'Tom' the only hallmark? No date, no other words and/or numbers?

Tom Meier is the only thing I can think of.  He sculpted for Ral Partha and then started his own company.  He didn't sculpt a lot of giants that I know of however.  Here's his miniature company web-site.

I'll try to put up a picture tonight.   All it says is Tom.    No date but it's from the lead era.   It's in the Ral Partha style, long gangly arms and a bulbous nose with size 20 feet but almost everything, if not everything I've seen from them has an indication that it's Ral Partha.   It's more of the Grenadier size about 2 inches high and could be a troll or large ogre.   He's carrying a stone axe.  

I'll check the Thunderbolt website tonight.

Could be Tom Loback of Dragontooth Miniatures.  If you post a pic of the mini, it will be easy to tell.

The giant, if stamped 'Tom' on the base, is a Citadel sculpt:

Not sure about the other one, though. We'll see if any of my fellow lead junkies can ID this one for you.

What I wish to know is how you folks take such awesome pictures so close up and that are so clear of those minis.

My attempts at picture taking for minis almost always end up BLURRED as heck.

I don't know how your camera works, but what I do is put my camera on macro mode and max out the optical zoom (not the digital zoom).  Good lighting also helps so the flash doesn't white out the details.  Good luck.

Thanks Tollhouse.  I'll keep that site for reference.

My pictures have nothing to do with any skill from me.  My camera just happened to have a button for close ups.  I just move as close to the mini as the auto focus will let me and take the picture.   Good lighting, like Benjoshua says, really helps.   Especially when the mini is dark because the auto focus on my camera won't let me get as close to the figure.  I also set the flash at the lowest possible setting.
