There are two distinct versions of this module. The original was titled Ghost Tower of Inverness. Only 300 numbered copies were printed (plus some others... see below) for sale at Wintercon VIII in 1979. It was later reprinted as C2 Ghost Tower of Inverness with a red color cover. Note that the original printing does not have a TSR stock number, nor does it bear the code "C2". The monochrome Ghost Tower is extremely rare and will require special emphasis when referring to it.
According to author Allen Hammack, this module was the first in a planned series (which never materialized).

Ghost Tower of Inverness
First (1979): Titled "Ghost Tower of Inverness", with "Collector's Edition II" in upper left. Green monochrome cover, bagged (not bound), cover art by Erol Otus. The serial number of the module is printed (typeface) in the upper left corner in a six-digit format (ie, 000123). It did not come shrinkwrapped. In addition to the 300 numbered copies, the following unnumbered copies were printed:
50 Dungeon Master's Copies (given to tournament DMs). Labeled "Dungeon Master" in the upper left corner, where the number normally would be.
25 Staff Copies (given to TSR staff). Staff copies do not have any writing in the upper left corner.
Two Designer's Copies (personal copies of aithoer Allen Hammack). Labeled "Designer Copy" in the upper left corner. Since two Author's copies were created for sister module Lost Tamoachan for its two authors, Hammack successfully lobbied for two similar copies for his module.

Trademark notice on bottom of front cover reads "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons is a trademark owned by TSR Hobbies, Inc".
Third: Red color cover. Product List on back cover is in two columns. 3-line banner ("For Advanced D&D Game"). ISBN (only) on back cover bottom left. The Estimated Values for Ghost Tower (limited) are fairly accurate for a numbered copy; much less so for un-numbered ones, which are very rarely seen in the marketplace (and which will always fetch much more at auction than a numbered copy).
