The second of three unrelated modules produced by Wee Warriors, Ltd, at the dawn of the Original D&D game. Subtitled "Dungeon Masters Kit".

The early printings of this module were distributed (but not actually produced) by TSR.

The first "Dungeon Masters Kit" by Wee Warriors is Palace of the Vampire Queen. The third and final module in the series, Misty Isles, is not covered on The Acaeum, since it was neither produced nor distributed by TSR.

First Alpha (1977):

Cover page is yellow, with artwork in red; single-sided

Produced by Wee Warriors, distributed by TSR

13 pages, standard-sized (8.5" x 11") loose-leaf paper; originally came in a Ziploc bag

Title page: front has title, four bulleted statements, a scenario background paragraph, and a "Distributed by TSR" notice at the very bottom. Back has a "This Kit Contains" list of module contents. White, double-sided

Five pages of keyed Encounter sheets. White, double-sided

Four pages of Maps. White, double-sided. Last map page is a blank hex grid

Quick Reference page, white, double-sided (character roll table on front, creature table on back)

Combat Summary page, white, double-sided

The copyright is stated as 1976, but the cover artwork is signed 1977. It was most likely written and developed in late 1976, and printed/released early 1977

The following two additional pages have been noted in some copies: 1) Blank white page, with "Distributed exclusively by TSR Hobbies, Inc" in small type; single-sided; 2) White page with blank hex grid, single-sided; this appears to be identical to the page that normally appears in the Second print, below

Various copies of this print are missing one or more pages; this appears to be an oversight by Wee Warriors and/or TSR. With these additions and subtractions, few copies of the First Alpha print are identical -- the assembly process was most likely a bit chaotic, perhaps also complicated by the strong probability that the first four printings of the module all came out in 1977

Print quality is a bit rough; edges are not sharp, text (and especially small map details like hex lines) have inconsistent ink

First Beta (1977):

Identical to the First Alpha print above, with the exception that the Title page has the fourth bullet crossed out (mentioning the Combat Summary sheet, which would be removed in the Second print), and a crossed-out "Distributed by TSR" notice at the bottom

We assume the Combat Summary page is not present; confirmation needed

This "print" (though we believe there was only one actual first printing) would have been the last copies of the First Alpha headed out the door, with the TSR distributorship dissolving

Only one copy of this print has been spotted

Second (1977):

Cover page is yellow, with artwork in red; single-sided

8 pages, standard-sized (8.5" x 11") loose-leaf paper; originally came in a Ziploc bag (one copy spotted with a staple in the upper left and no bag; unknown if this was original to the copy)

Title page: front has title, three bulleted statements, and a scenario background paragraph. The "Distributed by TSR" notice at the very bottom has been clearly whited-out on the master; some rough edges of the white-out are still visible on the artwork. Back has a "This Kit Contains" list of module contents. White, double-sided

Four pages of Maps. White, double-sided. Last map page is a blank hex grid

Features much sharper and uniform printing than the First print's, with the exception of the Title page, which appears identical to the First print -- minus the missing bullet and TSR notice, of course

This print came bundled with a separate digest-sized booklet containing the keyed encounters (copyrighted 1976, strangely enough, but Wee Warriors had a habit of using the original material's copyright), and was probably the first effort at digest-sizing all their modules. The booklet is eight double-sided pages stapled into a wrap-around cover; the last page is printed on the inside back cover, making a total of 17 numbered pages. The booklet came with its own Ziplog bag

Third (1977):

Pamphlet-sized book, with the cover in a heavy parchment-colored paper stock (similar to the Original D&D Supplements of the same time frame)

Artwork is the same as the previous printings, but done in black and reduced to fit the book size

Produced and distributed by Wee Warriors

10 numbered pages, with 16 unnumbered map pages bound in the middle

Catalog in rear mentions several items as "Coming Soon, Fall '77", as well as several "vaporware" items, leading us to believe this was print was released in mid-to-late 1977

Unknown if this print was originally shrinkwrapped

Fourth (1978):

Pamphlet-sized book, with the cover in a heavy parchment-colored paper stock (similar to the Original D&D Supplements of the same time frame)

Artwork is the same as the Third printing, but now in black and light brown (as opposed to just black). Also, the line "Pre-Factored Adventure For Use in Role Playing Games" is in uppercase beneath the artwork

Produced and distributed by Wee Warriors

12 pages -- 8 single-sided map pages, plus 4 double-sided information pages

Catalog in rear lists several items that were only released in 1978, giving us a better idea of when this print was published

Originally came shrinkwrapped

Dwarven Glory appears to be slightly more rare than comparable printings of PotVQ.
